Summary Care Record

Kingswood Health Centre hold a ‘Summary Care Record’ (SCR) for all our patients. When registering at the surgery you will be asked whether you wish to opt in to this. The SCR is an electronic summary of the key information on your medical records. It provides this information to authorised healthcare staff with faster, secure access to essential information about you when you need unplanned care or your GP practice is closed.

These healthcare staff will ask your permission every time they need to look at your Summary Care Record. If they cannot ask you, e.g. because you’re unconscious, healthcare staff may look at your record without asking you. If they have to do this, they will make a note on your record.
